Indicator Description
    This dataset contains the following metrics for Florida resident myocardial infarction inpatient hospitalizations:
    Case counts (ICD9-CM 410.00 – 410.92)
    Rates
    Age-adjusted rates
    Average daily number of myocardial infarction hospitalizations per month

    These data are stratified by year and month of admission, county of residence, age group, and gender.

Where did the data for this indicator come from?
    The data for this indicator comes from The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.


When was this data made available on the Tracking website?
    The data was published on the Florida Environmental Public Health Tracking website on January 11, 2011.


How was this indicator created?
  • Final indicator data was created using the guidance found in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Recommendations for Nationally Consistent Data and Measures within the Environmental Public Health Tracking Network, version 1.3.



How complete is the dataset for this indicator?
    These data includes inpatient hospitalizations of individuals who are hospitalized in acute care hospitals. These data are based only on primary discharge diagnosis codes (ICD9-CM). These data do not include individuals who were seen by an Emergency Department, but not admitted to the hospital. Veterans Affairs, Indian Health Services and institutionalized (prison) populations are excluded. No attempt has been made to remove records resulting from transfer among acute care hospitals, as a result there may be duplicate records for a single hospitalization event.
